What needed to change?
The group took bookings by phone and ran yard operations on spreadsheets. The website, the office and the drivers needed to work from consistent booking and pricing information.
How did we approach it?
We built the customer booking journey and the internal operations platform around the same business rules. Pricing is held on the server and shared by the websites, office system and WhatsApp integration.
What can the business do now?
- Customers get a price from their postcode, choose a delivery slot and pay online or choose the supported cash-on-delivery route.
- Private order links let customers manage hire extensions, exchanges, collections and outstanding balances.
- Office tools cover jobs, invoicing, HR, rotas and driver checks.
- The dispatch planner uses drive-time data and skip-work constraints, including tipping after a collection and matching empty skips to deliveries.
What matters for a similar project?
General job-management software does not always model the physical constraints of a business. This project shows how a custom system can connect customer self-service with the rules the office and fleet already work by.
